Scripture Reading:
“I humbled my soul with fasting.”
— Psalm 35:13
️ MEDITATION
One of the deepest mysteries of fasting is its power to humble the soul.
In a fast, the body is denied comfort so the spirit can take leadership. Fasting quiets pride, silences self-dependence, and positions the heart in total submission to God. God responds to humility.
When the soul bows, heaven responds. Many prayers fail not because God is unwilling, but because the heart has not yielded fully.
Fasting is a spiritual posture that says, “Lord, I depend on You completely.”
When humility rises, grace is released.
KEY TRUTHS ABOUT HUMILITY THROUGH FASTING.
1. God Gives Grace to the Humble: Humility attracts divine help.
Supporting Scripture:
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” — James 4:6
2. Fasting Weakens Fleshly Pride: The flesh loses dominance when disciplined.
Supporting Scripture:
“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection.” — 1 Corinthians 9:27
3. Humility Precedes Divine Lifting: God lifts those who bow before Him.
Supporting Scripture:
“Humble yourselves… and He shall lift you up.” — James 4:10
