BUILDING STRENGTH, DISCIPLINE, AND ENDURANCE
DATE: 9th of FEBRUARY 2026
AUTHOR: Evang Ademola Elemo
SERIES: PHYSICAL PREPARATION
Scripture Reading:
“But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection.” 1 Corinthians 9:27
️ MEDITATION:
God’s work requires strength and endurance, not carelessness. Many are spiritually willing but physically weak, making consistency difficult.
Physical preparation is about training the body to cooperate with the spirit.
Discipline is not punishment; it is preparation.
Strength is built through intentional habits, and endurance develops through consistency. Just as athletes train for a prize, believers must train their bodies to support God’s calling.
A disciplined body responds quickly to divine demands and does not become a limitation to purpose.
KEY TRUTHS ABOUT STRENGTH AND DISCIPLINE:
1. Discipline Brings Control: A trained body obeys the spirit.
Supporting Scripture:
“A man without self-control is like a city broken down.” — Proverbs 25:28
2. Strength Is Developed, Not Wished For
Consistency builds capacity.
Supporting Scripture:
“Let us not be weary in well doing.” Galatians 6:9
3. Endurance Enables Completion: Staying power ensures fulfillment.
Supporting Scripture:
“He that endureth to the end shall be saved.” — Matthew 24:13
 REFLECTION QUESTIONS
Is my body trained to obey or to resist discipline?
What physical habits strengthen or weaken my endurance?
Am I consistent or occasional in caring for my body?
 PRAYER
Father, train my body to serve Your purpose.
Give me discipline to develop strength and endurance.
Help me overcome laziness, excess, and neglect.
Let my body cooperate fully with my spiritual assignment. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
 DECLARATIONS:
I walk in discipline and self-control.
My body grows stronger and more resilient.
I have endurance to complete God’s assignment.
My strength is renewed daily by the Lord.
My body supports, not limits, my destiny.
 ACTION POINT FOR TODAY:
Commit to one consistent physical discipline (walking, stretching, rest schedule, hydration) and practice it daily this week.
