 SCRIPTURE READING
“For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other.” — Galatians 5:17
“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” — Romans 13:14
️ MEDITATION
Walking in the Spirit requires daily victory over the flesh—the human nature that resists God’s will.
The flesh is not always sinful in appearance; sometimes it is simply self-will, impatience, emotions, or desire for control. But anything that competes with the Spirit must be subdued.
Consider Adam, He fell not because he lacked information, but because he yielded to the voice of desire over God’s instruction.
That single act introduced struggle between flesh and Spirit.
 Scripture Guidance:
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food… she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat.” — Genesis 3:6
Think about Samson. He was anointed but repeatedly allowed fleshly desires to override spiritual discipline, weakening his destiny.
His downfall was not lack of strength, but lack of control.
 Scripture Guidance:
“And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head.” — Judges 16:19
Also, Paul the Apostle openly revealed the battle between flesh and Spirit, showing that victory requires discipline and constant submission to God.
 Scripture Guidance:
“I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection.” — 1 Corinthians 9:27
This is the mystery: you don’t overcome the flesh by strength, but by surrender to the Spirit.
The more you yield to God, the weaker the flesh becomes. The Spirit strengthens what you feed.
