DATE: 7th of July 2026
AUTHOR: Evang Ademola Elemo
SERIES: DON’T SUBSTITUTE PRAYER FOR WORK
 SCRIPTURE READING
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.” — James 2:17
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
️ MEDITATION
Faith is not passive—it is active.
True biblical faith is more than believing that God can do something; it is acting in obedience because you believe He will do what He has promised. Genuine faith always produces corresponding action.
Many people pray for open doors but never prepare themselves to walk through them. Others ask God for promotion but refuse to be faithful in their present assignment. God honors faith that obeys.
Consider Noah. God warned him of a flood that had never been seen before. Noah did not merely say, “I believe.” He spent years building the ark exactly as God instructed. His faith was demonstrated by his obedience.
 Scripture Guidance:
“By faith Noah… prepared an ark to the saving of his house.” — Hebrews 11:7
Think about Peter. After fishing all night without success, Jesus instructed him to cast the net once more. Human reasoning said it was pointless, but Peter obeyed, and the miraculous catch followed.
 Scripture Guidance:
“Nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.” — Luke 5:5
Also, consider The Israelites at the Red Sea. God promised deliverance, but they had to move forward in faith. As they obeyed God’s instruction, He made a way where there seemed to be none.
 Scripture Guidance:
“Speak unto the children of Israel, that they go forward.” — Exodus 14:15
This is the mystery: God’s promises often require man’s participation.
Noah built. Peter cast the net. The Israelites moved forward.
The miracle came after the act of obedience.
Prayer prepares your heart. Faith receives God’s promise.
Obedience positions you for the miracle.
God’s power flows where faith is expressed through action.
KINGDOM TRUTHS ABOUT FAITH THAT WORKS
1. Genuine Faith Produces Action: Faith is visible through obedience.
“Faith without works is dead.” — James 2:17
2. Obedience Unlocks God’s Miracles: Many miracles begin with a simple act of obedience.
“If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.” — Isaiah 1:19
3. God Directs Those Who Move in Faith: As you acknowledge God and obey Him, He directs your path.
“He shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:6
