 SCRIPTURE READING
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt… But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven…” — Matthew 6:19–20
“A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children…” — Proverbs 13:22
“The memory of the just is blessed…” — Proverbs 10:7
️ MEDITATION
One of the greatest mistakes people make is living only for today. They invest all their time, money, and energy in things that will eventually fade away, while neglecting the things that have eternal and generational value.
God calls His children to live differently. He wants us to invest in what will outlive us—our relationship with Him, our character, our family, His Kingdom, and the lives of others.
Money can be spent, possessions can be lost, and earthly achievements may one day be forgotten. But every soul won for Christ, every life impacted, every act of love, every godly example, and every investment in God’s Kingdom carries eternal rewards.
Your greatest legacy is not what you leave for people, but what you leave in people.
Consider Abraham. God blessed Abraham, but the blessing was not meant for him alone. Through his faith and obedience, generations after him experienced God’s covenant blessings.
 Scripture Guidance:
“In thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.” — Genesis 22:18
Consider Timothy. The faith that was planted in him by his grandmother Lois and his mother Eunice became the foundation for his ministry. Their investment in his spiritual life produced fruit that blessed the Church.
 Scripture Guidance:
“The unfeigned faith… which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice.” — 2 Timothy 1:5
Also consider Paul the Apostle. Rather than living only for himself, Paul poured his life into preaching the Gospel and discipling others. Though he is no longer on earth, his ministry continues to transform lives through the Scriptures.
 Scripture Guidance:
“The things that thou hast heard of me… commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.” — 2 Timothy 2:2
This is the mystery:
A wise person does not merely ask, “What can I gain?” but, “What will remain after I am gone?”
A life focused only on personal comfort ends with temporary satisfaction.
A life invested in God’s Kingdom produces eternal rewards.
Invest in:
your relationship with God,
your family,
godly character,
discipleship,
serving others,
and the work of God’s Kingdom.
These are treasures that neither time nor death can destroy.
