“My sheep hear my voice… and a stranger will they not follow.” — John 10:27–28
️ MEDITATION
Not every voice you hear is God’s voice.
Discernment is the spiritual ability to distinguish God’s leading from every other influence—fear, flesh, emotions, and deception.
God’s voice is always consistent with His Word and produces peace, truth, and alignment with righteousness.
Eve — The Danger of Undiscerning a Voice: Eve listened to a voice that contradicted God’s instruction, leading to disobedience and spiritual consequence.
This shows the importance of testing every voice before obedience.
 Scripture Guidance:
“But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it.” — Genesis 2:17
“And the serpent said unto the woman… Ye shall not surely die.” — Genesis 3:4
Lesson: Any voice that contradicts God’s Word is not from God.
Jesus Christ — Responding with the Word of God: Jesus was tempted by opposing voices in the wilderness, but He discerned and responded only with
Scripture, showing perfect spiritual clarity.
 Scripture Guidance:
“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.” — Matthew 4:1
“It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone…” — Matthew 4:4
“It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.” — Matthew 4:7
Lesson: The voice of God is always confirmed by Scripture.
Paul the Apostle — Testing Every Voice
Paul teaches believers to exercise spiritual discernment and test everything carefully before accepting it as truth.
 Scripture Guidance:
“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:21
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel… let him be accursed.” — Galatians 1:8
Lesson: Even spiritual-sounding messages must be tested by truth.
